Hello everyone,

Welcome to my official author website – the perfect place to be if you want to find out more about my books, sample my writing for FREE, view exclusive photos, be the first to hear announcements and sign up to my monthly newsletter.

I have been an author since my debut novel My Map Of You was published in 2016, though I began writing stories many years before that. My tally of published books now stands at 12, with number 13 (which has proven to be anything but unlucky) arriving next year. I studied Media Arts and Journalism at university in London before securing a job at a local newspaper in Cambridgeshire, where I was born and raised. This eventually led to a position at heat magazine, where I remained for 15 years and became the Book Reviews Editor. I’m now a freelance reviewer and editor alongside working as a novelist, and live in Suffolk with my dog, Julius.

My next novel, THE FRENCH GUESTHOUSE, follows hotelier Fliss from the disastrous remnants of her London life all the way to Libourne in southwestern France, where she’s been summoned following the death of her estranged mother. Once there, Fliss is stunned to discover she’s inherited a dilapidated guesthouse, but it’s a legacy she must share with her mother’s wine-soaked artist partner, Etienne, and his beguiling nephew, Benoit. As Fliss sets about restoring the house, she unearths secrets that change everything she believed about the past, her relationship with her late mother, and the future she had mapped out for herself.

The novel will be published on 6 November, and is available to pre-order now in ebook, paperback or audio format. You can find out more about my 13th novel, THE HOUSE OF HIDDEN LETTERS, by signing up to my newsletter, or by following me on my social media platforms. That book will be published in ebook on 12 February 2026, with the paperback and audio editions following on 26 March. Pre-order it here.

As well as my novels, I’m also proud to have a writer’s credit for the monologues on classical crossover album Sketches On A Lazy Day, which I worked on during the lockdown summer of 2020 with composer Andrew McAllister and The Fall actress Bronagh Waugh. Evocative, beautiful, and transporting, you can find it on Spotify or Apple Music.

In 2024, my author friend Cathy Bramley and I launched Bramley & Broom: Writing Courses, Retreats & More, through which we aim to give new and aspiring writers the tools they need to turn ideas into novels.
